It’s our mission

To help parents as they create their baby-safe world where babies are free to develop and thrive.

We make a world of products that help babies (and the parents who love them) grow boldly

our process

It’s all about how we create, test and improve our products. Along the way from idea to reality we ask lots of questions—by talking to parents, doctors, regulatory experts, scientists. We learn what we should and shouldn’t do to make our products ones that parents feel great about using around their babies.

How does the product feel and smell…or doesn’t? How does it work and why? What ingredients will make it better? What ingredients are unsafe or unnecessary? How can we make it easy to use? Fun? Economical? We test it and refine it. Then test it again. (see Our Testing) And once the product is on the shelf it’s never off our radar. We’re constantly reviewing ingredients and the latest studies. We listen to your feedback and we’re on the lookout for new and better ingredients that might improve it. Just like our babies … we never sleep.

our don'ts

It goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway) we don’t use ingredients that parents wouldn’t want around their babies. Since there is no generally accepted standard for “natural” and “safe” we’ve come up with our own strict standard for each of our formulas. All our ingredients and formulas are vetted by experts (see Our Family).

Our list of “never use” ingredients is an ever-evolving list, based on the latest scientific studies. The good news is the more parents learn and speak out, the more focus is placed on the development of new ingredients. In the end, every Babyganics product has to pass the real parent test. We ask “Is this something we’d confidently use around or on our own babies?” If you see it on the shelf, the answer was “Yes”.

our do’s

Despite our many ‘don’ts’ we don’t come from a place of ‘no.’ Really, the best way for all of us to help babies develop and thrive is to focus on the ‘yes's’. How can we add value to you and your baby’s world? What can we add that will better nourish, protect, soothe or clean?

The answers are found in ingredients like NeoNourish®, our special blend of 100% natural seed oils that goes into our products that touch your baby’s skin. It’s why we use Orange Blossom in our night time formulas to relax your baby. And our soothing, calming ingredients like Colloidal Oatmeal, Olive Oil, Shea butter, Aloe and Vitamin E. So, yeah, our ‘don'ts’ mean our products are tested and proven to be non-irritating and the kind of product you’d feel good about using around or on your baby. But our ‘do's’ mean our products are also gentle, nourishing, moisturizing, cleansing, soothing, rash-reducing, healing, stain-removing, grease-cutting, clean-rinsing, broad spectrum, super-protective, absorbent and a really good value. So, yeah, do remember the ‘don'ts’. But don’t forget the ‘do’s.”

our testing

If you see one of our products in the store, you know it’s brilliantly passed more tests than an Ivy League PhD. We test every one of our products and ingredients to make sure they are everything we promise: Does it rinse? Clean? Protect? Moisturize? Heal? We test our preservatives: Will it last, resist contamination and is it safe to use around babies?

We test for skin irritation (Human Repeat Insult Patch Testing, if you want to get all technical) and eye irritation. We do SPF, Water Resistance & Broad Spectrum tests for our sun care products and Stability and Micro Contamination tests on all of our formulas. That’s the short list. If you want to satisfy your inner chemistry nerd call our toll free number. Plenty of geeks on our end are standing by to talk endlessly about testing until you say “Uh, I think I hear the bell for my next class… ”

As part of our ongoing commitment to add ‘yes's’ to our products (see Our Do’s & Our Don’ts) we’ve created an ingredient blend that’s special enough to get its own little shout out. NeoNourish® is our own 100% natural, cold-pressed seed oil blend specifically made for the unique needs of babies’ ‘work in progress’ skin.

It’s a combination of oils from the seeds of Black Cumin, Tomato, Sunflower, Cranberry and Red Raspberry. They’re specially balanced to supplement your baby’s natural skin defenses against the environment. You’ll find it in our products that come in the most direct contact with your baby’s skin. From lotions to bath products and even in our diapers. Heck, we’re tempted to put it all over ourselves.
